Founded in The Hague in 2011, Iconic design & architecture is a multidisciplinary design studio dedicated to craftmanship, minimalism, cultural depth and architectural vision. Led by Bart de Rooy, the studio seamless blends refined serenity infused with unexpected elements unique to each project in residential, retail and hospitality spaces.

Working across a wide range of scales and typologies, Bart de Rooy creates spaces that balance intimacy with sophistication - from refined private residences to immersive hospitality environments. The studio collaborates closely with Italian brands and niche design galleries, with a strong focus on materiality and detail. Wood, marble, ceramics, textured metals and layered finishes are thoughtfully combined to create interiors rich in atmosphere and character. Though the interplay of natural light, subtle transparencies, and tactile textures, each space feels timeless, contemporary and deeply personal.

Residential design lies at the heart of the studio’s philosophy, where every project is shaped around comfort, elegance and a sense of understated luxury. In retail, projects such as the Diamond Point store at Bijenkorf Amsterdam, the Plnktn brand space in Amsterdam and the Rituals store combine brand identity with international influences, resulting in narrative-driven spaces with a strong emotional connection.

From concept to completion, I oversee every stage of the design process, including creative direction, 3d visualisation, lighting and electrical plans, project management, styling, art curation and white glove furniture delivery.
